IMAN is a magnetic lamp composed of two separate parts: the base and the lampshade. I have designed the bases for five distinct lamps: a desk lamp, a bedside lamp, a floor lamp, a wall lamp, and a ceiling lamp. The lampshade can be magnetically connected and interchanged between the different bases of IMAN.     

   IMAN´s magnetic structure allows for a simple user-object interaction, as the user defines to what precise angle the light is pointed or at what height above the ground the light shines.    All bases are similar in formal structure and the magnetic mechanism remains the same in every mode. The latter is driven by electromagnetic induction, which is a wireless way of transferring energy.
